Membership
How do I become a member of Badminton Geelong?
Register/apply via the membership page or send a message via the contact form.
Membership is $50 for adults, $35 for seniors and juniors, per calendar year.
What are the benefits of the Badminton Geelong membership?
Members are also automatically members of Badminton Victoria.
Sports insurance is provided via Badminton Victoria.
Members enjoy discounted prices for court hire, coaching and in the Pro Shop.
Members also benefit from availability for selection in organised competitions and for selection in tournaments, including veterans events.
Is there any coaching/training available?
Yes, the Geelong Badminton Academy offers group and individual coaching for juniors and adults at various levels. A one hour private coaching session is $55 for members and $65 for non-members.

Can I purchase equipment from Badminton Geelong?
Yes, our Pro Shop has a range of racquets, grips and accessories available for all levels and budgets. A restringing service is also available. Shuttles can be purchased by the tube or individually.

Monday 12:30pm – 2:30pm

How do I register for casual social session?
Choose your preferred session under the social tab above and follow the prompts.
What is the casual court hire price?
- Members $20 per hour per court
- Non-members $25 per hour per court
- Racquet hire $2.50 per racquet
I registered for a social session but I can't come, what do I do?
Please do let us know if you cannot attend as we can provide your spot to others who are interested. To cancel, go to the contact page and call or send a message via the contact form providing your name and the session that you cannot attend.
What is the scoring system at social sessions?
Generally it is one game to 30 points without setting to ensure all players receive appropriate court time; at times of lower demand players can play best of three sets to 21 points by agreement.
No referees or line judges are available – an honour system applies.
What are the levels of play at social sessions?
Players range includes beginners, para, intermediate and advanced levels. Organisers will do their best to group players of approximately similar levels. However, as a social session, players will encounter different levels and are asked to demonstrate good sportsmanship.
