Preparations for the 2024 VICTOR Oceania Championships are well under way.
Come along and see world class badminton in action close up and personal.
The program:
Our own Jacob Schueler has been seeded second in the main draw for the men’s singles competition.
February 12 – 15: Open individual championships
February 16 – 18: Men’s and women’s team championships
February 16-18: Pacific invitation team challenge Six junior (under 17) teams from the Pacific-based member associations will play in a mixed team competition

Stadium improvements ontrack for early February
Players and visitors to the stadium will notice some significant changes this year.
A new office for the stadium manager has almost been completed, placed adjacent to the existing front counter and pro shop.
Upgrades to the stadium speaker system are also under way.
A roofing company has been engaged to install new larger Whirly vents on the roof for improved air movement and heat extraction.
The upgrade will make a significant temperature difference on court. Expected completion date is by the first week in February.
All improvements will enhance playing conditions at the Oceania tournament and the VETs tournament the following weekend.

AGM nominations
Nominations are now open for three positions on the Badminton Geelong board.
The board plays a vital role in shaping the direction of Badminton Geelong, as it strives to represent the views of all members.
Therefore as part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we encourage anyone interested to apply, particularly female members, aiming to achieve a balanced gender representation on the board.
We believe that diverse perspectives contribute significantly to our success.
The deadline for submitting nominations is February 22 2024. Kindly fill out the nomination form and place it in the designated box outside the pro shop.
Procedures for nomination:
1. Complete the nomination form available at the pro shop or at this link: AGM Nominations Form 2024
2. Ensure the form is sealed in an envelope.
3. Drop the sealed envelope into the designated box outside the pro shop.
